Creating Climate Resilient Landscapes with Native Plants
Dr. Maggie Gaddis, Executive Director of CONPS, will discuss successful steps homeowners can take in order to create a resilient landscape in the face of a changing climate. She will join Alex Crochet and cover the basics from soil mixtures, propagation techniques, seed treatments & collections, and highlight some superstar plants to use at home. Dr. Gaddis and Alex will also discuss steps and efforts being made by both Colorado Native Plant Society and City of Colorado Springs Horticulture program to build resiliency at State and Municipal levels.
Dr. Maggie Gaddis is the Executive Director of the Colorado Native Plant Society
She is a member of the Geography and Environmental Studies department at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. Maggie is a restoration ecologist whose current work involves native plant propagation and revegetation monitoring. She lives in Colorado Springs with her family where they all get involved in growing and caring for plants inside and outside of their home.
