Meet the Team

  • As Director of Parks & Recreation for the city of Durango for 25 years, Cathy was instrumental in helping the Durango Botanic Gardens develop a Memorandum of Understanding with the city enabling DBG to build public gardens. Joining the board in 2022, Cathy continues to expand the DBG relationship with the city and other local institutions. She is also chair and in charge of developing the new Community Venue Garden.

  • Barbara took the Colorado Master Gardener class in 2017 shortly after retiring. Wanting to become more active in gardening, she became a member of the Durango Botanic Gardens, joining the Board of Directors in February, 2018.

    After several months of observing the workings of the Board, Barbara found her niche with the Board as Director of Marketing.

  • Bill LeMaire, president of Durango Botanic Gardens with junior botanist granddaughter, Lucette.

    As president, he develops meeting agendas, chairs board meetings, member of the Marketing committee, website administrator, chair of the Art in the Gardens Committee, and lead grant writer.

  • Annette LeMaire, Board Secretary and Creative Director

    Annette maintains and develops marketing programs to gain new members, renew current members. As a member of the marketing committee, she is the principal developer of our collateral materials. Annette also serves on the Art Committee and the New Gardens Committee.

  • Heather Robertson is the back-pocket go-to strategist for the Durango Botanic Gardens for marketing and web support.

    She supports the production of all the recorded presentations and online strategy.

    She offers strategy and training programs for entrepreneurs and professionals worldwide.

It takes a village—well, a very small, committed one like these folks—to produce an online conference and
our March 16 reception and keynote.
