As a landscape architect, he manages over 5,000 acres of natural and developed parklands with extensive experience in the design, development, and ongoing stewardship of highly utilized public spaces. Scott will discuss best practices for developing and maintaining sustainable landscapes in a changing climate. Assistant Parks Director – City of Durango
Scott has a BS in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University. He has worked for the last ten years for private landscape architecture/land planning firms. His experience encompasses a wide range of projects, including design and development of new communities, landscaping, parks, and outdoor recreation facilities.
Scott has been with the City of Durango Parks and Recreation Department for seventeen years. His first ten years were in parks, open space, and trail project design and development. He is currently involved with oversight and administration of Parks Division, including project design and development, and operations and maintenance of parks, trails, the urban forest, Greenmount Cemetery, Lake Nighthorse, and city open space.
